Welcome to the website for the Theoretical Issues in Sign Language Research Conference (TISLR 10). TISLR 10 invites papers addressing any aspect of research that is both theoretical and addresses sign languages. Topics and the keynote speakers for TISLR 10 are listed in the Call for Papers link. The theme is “Research Methodologies in Sign Language Linguistics".

This year the conference will be at Purdue University, located close to Chicago and Indianapolis airports. Please see our links above for detailed information about conference participation: Program and Submissions, Travel and Registration, and other useful links.

This conference will provide interpreters translating between English and ASL, as well as interpreters translating between English and International Signs. Authors wishing interpretation to or from other sign languages are kindly encouraged to bring their interpreters and requested to contact the interpreter coordinator to make further arrangements. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of our new 'direct communication' policy, which promotes the use of a signed language in making presentations. A group of advisors will be available to assist presenters who would like help in preparing their talk in a signed
language. Please consult the Signed Presentation Advisors link above for further information.

We have obtained a small amount of funding from the National Science Foundation for fellowships. Procedures for applying for these $500 fellowships are available at the Fellowships link above.

We hope to see you all in Sept 2010 at Purdue!
