High Performance Computing (HPC) Luncheon
October 19 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Lawson 3102AB
The Computing Research Institute (CRI) will host a HPC luncheon on October 19th from 12:00 - 1:00 in LWSN 3102A/B. The topic is Cyberinfrastructure for Earthquake Engineering Purdue has created a center that operates one the largest research infrastructure investments in the country - The NEES Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation. The network includes 14 Earthquake Engineering research laboratories, located at US universities. The cyberinfrastructure is a key component of the operation, the goal of which is to foster collaboration and create an overall network that is more valuable than the sum of its components. NEES is an operational award, as opposed to a research grant. I will give a brief overview of the center and its cyberinfrastructure plans; then I will focus on the discussion on how this award can leverage research at Purdue.
