Prof Chongwei Jin visiting Purdue University February, 2012 – February, 2013.

Professor Chongwei Jin, currently an Associate Professor, Zhejiang University of China, is visiting the lab of Professor Jiankang Zhu, departments of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. His research interests relate to plant iron nutrition, nitrogen nutrition and responses to environment stresses. He is now doing studies on the molecular mechanisms underlying plant responses to harsh environments in collaboration with Prof. Zhu. Please find his CV here: Link to Jin’s CV.

Mr. Wang Ruzhen visiting Purdue University May 1, 2012 - April 30, 2013.

Wang Ruzhen will be the first US-China Ecopartnership visiting graduate student scholar. Mr. Wang is co advised by Ecopartner Professor Yong Jiang, Professor of Soil Science, Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tim Filley. Mr. Wang will be working on the dynamics of soil organic matter and biochar within terrestrial ecosystems and studying stable isotope biogeochemistry techniques.

Prof Shaoting Du visiting Purdue University June, 2012 – June, 2013.

Professor Shaoting Du, currently an Associate Professor, Environmental Science, College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Zhejiang Gongshang University, China, is visiting the lab of Professor Chad Jafvert School of Civil Engineering and Division of Environmental & Ecological Engineering. Her expertise is related to wastewater treatment and agricultural nutrient cycling. She is now doing studies on photochemical degradation of steroid hormone in Prof. Jafvert's lab. Ms. Nana Wu visiting Purdue University August 7 2012 – August 6 2013.

Nana Wu will be a visiting graduate student scholar working on the impacts of N addition and rain exclusion on soil organic matter and nutrient dynamics in forests.  Mrs. Wu is advised by Ecopartner Professor Edith Bai, Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Prof Defu Xu visiting Purdue University August 8, 2012 – August 7, 2013.

Professor Xu is faculty in the College of Environmental Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology.   His areas of expertise include bioremediation of wastewater and polluted soil, constructed wetland to purify wastewater, and nutrient cycles in water and soil.  He has been the Jiangsu Overseas Research and Training Program for University Prominent Young and Middle-aged teacher and Presidents to study soil-contaminant dynamics with the Ecopartnership.

Prof Sun Jian visiting Purdue University September 1, 2012 – August, 2013.

Professor Sun Jian is faculty in the College of Civil Engineering, Nanjing University of Technology, China. He is visiting the Department of Building Construction Management (BCM) and advised by Professor Alter Kirk. His research interests relate to sustainable construction, building construction management and build environment. Prof Shenjun Qin visiting Purdue University March 2013 – February 2014.

Professor Shenjun Qin, currently an Associate Professor at Hebei University of Engineering, is visiting the biogeochemical lab of Professor Timothy Filley of the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences. His research interests relate to organic geochemistry of sediment, coal and oil, primarily concerning GC-MS analyses and the geochemical significance of organic molecules and biomarkers. Supported by the Excellent Going Abroad Experts’ Training Program through Hebei Province, Prof. Qin is performing joint research with Professor Filley. Through this joint research, he will be partaking in lipid and lignin extractions and analyzing them by GC-MS and compound specific stable isotope mass spectrometry. Prof Jianyu Zhu visiting University of Tennessee November, 2012 – November, 2013.

Professor Jianyu Zhu, an Associate Professor at Central South University, Changsha, China, is visiting the lab of Professor Terry C. Hazen, at the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (http://hazenlab.utk.edu). Prof. Zhu's areas of expertise include basic and applied microbial ecology, bioremediation, and resources recovery. He is now engaged in studies on the metal redox function of bacteria from deep basin water and sediments in Prof. Hazen's lab. Please find his CV here: Link to Zhu.
