Purdue Farmers Market to return May 7

The Purdue Farmers Market will reopen May 7, and it will offer a host of locally produced foods, including prepared lunches, every Thursday through Oct. 29.
The market will be open on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 7 through July 30 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Aug. 6 through Oct. 29. The market will be held at the northern end of Memorial Mall for the first two markets, but due to anticipated construction on Oval Drive, it will be moved to the center of Memorial Mall for the duration of the construction.
In addition to a variety of local produce, the market again will offer local prepared foods, which will be served during market hours. The prepared foods have continued to be a popular feature since 2012, when they first were offered, says Sarah Vaughn, assistant to the director of university sustainability.
Twenty-minute parking spots will be available behind Stewart Center next to the Block P Mall on Oval Drive and will be free to use during market hours.
The Office of University Sustainability manages the market. Providing marketing support, contracts with vendors and a market master is Greater Lafayette Commerce.
