Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
The Office of the Provost at Purdue University invites nominations and applications for the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs position. This position reports directly to the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and will provide leadership for initiatives that support new, mid-career and tenured faculty. We seek a visionary leader to assist the Vice Provost to plan, direct and evaluate the following programs and initiatives: Faculty Institutional Research, Faculty Policies, Promotion and Tenure, Provost Fellow Programs, Distinguished and Named Professorships, Faculty Awards, Faculty Leaves, Faculty Grievances, and CIC Academic Leadership Program.
Depending on expertise and experience, the Associate Vice Provost will coordinate the following programs: New Faculty Orientation, Department Head Leadership Program, CIC Department Executive Program, Faculty Dual Career Assistance Program, Faculty Fellowships for Study in a Second Discipline, and Faculty Awards.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have academic administrative experience at the department or college level. He/she must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience dealing with Purdue West Lafayette academic community, and a demonstrated ability to work with faculty from varied disciplines and backgrounds. Acceptance of diverse cultures and individuals is required.
Application and Nominations:
This position is envisioned to be a 100 percent staff appointment. However, to allow the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs to remain an active faculty member, consideration will be given to less than 100 percent FTE requests. The appointment will be for three years and is renewable upon mutual written agreement following customary performance.
