Debra Haynes (Bursar): I had to call the Bursar’s Office three times over the past few weeks with student questions. I’ve only been in my position since March 2021, and I continue to learn new things every day. I try to find information on the webpages first, but when in doubt, I call for verification. All calls were answered by Debra. She is very friendly and patient, and not only answers my questions, but explains things in a way that helps me understand why or how things are structured the way they are. I truly appreciate that — especially being new. The better information I receive, the better I can communicate with my students. I came to Purdue with 15 years of experience in higher ed from another university. I’ve worked with staff across multiple departments and can say without a doubt she is one of the best.
