WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue's Engineering Professional Education program was ranked fourth among online engineering graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report's Best Online Program rankings.

The rankings were released Jan. 7 and can be seen at http://www.usnews.com/education/online-education

The program has been in the top 10 in the rankings for three straight years.

Purdue's Division of Engineering Professional Education delivers six different master's degrees online, said Dale Harris, executive director of the division. In 2014, there were more than 800 active distance students, making Purdue one of the largest providers of distance graduate engineering degrees in the nation.

The magazine says its ranking is based on student engagement (30 percent), faculty credentials and training (25 percent), student services and technology (20 percent), peer reputation (15 percent) and admissions selectivity (10 percent).
