Applications for Trask Innovation Fund awards due Sept. 25

September 1, 2015

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University inventors at all campuses who are prepared to advance Purdue technologies toward commercialization can submit applications for Trask Innovation Fund awards through 5 p.m. EDT Sept. 25.

The awards are competitive, and faculty and staff at all Purdue colleges, schools and departments are eligible. Applications must describe commercially relevant work that can be performed over a six-month period that furthers the development of a Purdue-owned technology that has been disclosed to the Purdue Research Foundation Office of Technology Commercialization.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to work with their relevant Sponsored Program Services Pre-Award Center for the staff to prepare the submission to the Office of Technology Commercialization. Other information about applications is available at http://otc-prf.org/trask-innovation-fund.

In this round of awards, selected projects from the Purdue College of Agriculture will have the opportunity to be awarded additional funding from Romney, Indiana-based Ag Alumni Seed Improvement Association Inc.

The most recent round of awards saw four Purdue researchers receive almost $135,000 for three projects: a treatment for Type 1 diabetes, microscale sensors for explosives detection and a time-dependent erasable ink and delivery system.

The Trask Innovation Fund Advisory Council manages two rounds of funding each year. The council comprises representatives from the local business community, Purdue Research Foundation, Purdue University Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships, and Purdue faculty. The advisory council will meet in December or January to determine this round's award recipients.
