Purdue Wine Grape Team sets winemaking workshop
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Viticulturists and wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn about winemaking at the Purdue Wine Grape Team's spring workshop.
"Getting Ready for 2016 - From Vineyard to Bottle" will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 at Holtkamp Winery, 10868 Woliung Road, New Alsace, and Retting Hill Winery and Vineyard, 2679 E. State Route 350, Osgood. Purdue Extension sponsors the workshop.
The workshop will include vineyard tours, wine tastings and discussion as well as several presentations by enologists and viticulturists.
Presenters are:
* Bruce Bordelon, Purdue viticulture professor, Purdue Wine Grape Team.
* Christian Butzke, Purdue enology professor, Purdue Wine Grape Team.
* Jill Blume, Purdue enology specialist, Purdue Wine Grape Team.
* Doug Holtkamp, owner and winemaker of Holtkamp Winery.
* Jeff McCann, vineyard manager of Holtkamp Winery.
* Jeff Hill, owner and winemaker of Retting Hill Winery and Vineyard.
