WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — At the request of Purdue Student Government, Purdue President Mitch Daniels has directed that the Purdue Bell Tower and Class of 1939 Water Sculpture on Purdue Mall be lit with rainbow colors in honor of the victims of the June 12 tragedy in Orlando, Florida.

The University joins others around the country and around the world in expressing outrage at this atrocity and in sending condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Purdue reaffirms its commitment to foster human dignity, mutual respect and fundamental freedoms, and to the search for better means of detecting and defeating threats to the security of Americans at home and abroad.
