Purdue University Press releasing book to honor National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month

Froehlick Alzheimer book

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University Press, in recognition of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, will publish "Creating Moments of Joy Along the Alzheimer's Journey: A Guide for Families and Caregivers, Fifth Edition, Revised and Expanded," by Jolene Brackey, on Tuesday (Nov. 15).

In the book, Brackey offers practical advice and a unique vision for families and caregivers: that we all will soon look beyond the challenges of Alzheimer's disease and focus more of our energies on creating moments of joy.

“I have learned so much more over the past 10 years from families and caregivers sharing their struggles and joys," Brackey said. "This is the best of all my work, and I am proud to pass it on to help others along the journey.”

The latest edition has been expanded to address more issues in dementia care, from early warning signs through late stages, and draws on Brackey's more than 20 years of work with elderly communities, caregivers and families.

“Jolene’s work touches the hearts and lives of countless people, the world over,” said Peter Foehlich, director of Purdue University Press. “Purdue is proud to be the publisher of this important title.”
