Popular book series comes to life in a musical adventure on Purdue campus
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Pete the Cat is on a mission to help his friend find artistic inspiration, come along on this musical quest on Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. in Loeb Playhouse in Stewart Center. This performance is presented by Purdue Convocations with support from Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc.
Ticket holders are invited to a photo opportunity prior to the show at 2 p.m. in the west lobby of the Stewart Center. Attendees can get a picture taken with Pete the Cat and enjoy Pete the Cat activities. The Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners will present cat-related activities.
Jimmy Biddle never strays from his routine — that is until the groovy, blue Pete the Cat moves in with the Biddle family for the summer. Can cat and boy ever be friends? When Jimmy draws a blank during art class, Pete — who never loses his cool — proves the perfect pal to lead a mission to help Jimmy find his inspiration. Join Jimmy and Pete for a fun, fast-paced musical adventure of friendship, all the way to Paris and back again in a Volkswagen Bus.
James Dean is the creator of the character. Dean started painting his cat shortly after adopting him in 1999. The character gained a following and is now beloved by both young and old. This comedic feline hero will be sure to warm the hearts of audiences both young and old.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 18 years and younger, Purdue students and Ivy Tech Lafayette students.
