Tornado awareness, safety training offered to Purdue community

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University's Environmental Health and Public Safety Office will offer three sessions in the coming weeks for the university community on severe weather awareness and actions to take in the event of a tornado.

Fire safety specialist Tom Cooper will lead the sessions. Each training session will take place in the Terry Conference Room at the Purdue Police Department, 205 S. Martin Jischke Drive. The training is open to Purdue students, faculty and staff. Anyone interested can register for any one of the following dates:

* Friday, March 31. 10-11 a.m.

* Friday, April 7. 10-11 a.m.

* Friday, April 14. 10-11 a.m.
