Purdue Galleries presents GIFTED: Selected Gifts to the Permanent Collection

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University Galleries will feature an exhibition titled “GIFTED: Selected Gifts to the Permanent Collection,” highlighting works gifted to Purdue Galleries’ permanent collection.

This exhibition, which runs July 5 through Aug. 5, features prints, sculptures and paintings representing a wide range of media, regions, and time periods. “GIFTED: Selected Gifts to the Permanent Collection” will be on show in Fountain Gallery, which is located at 330 Main Street, Lafayette, in the historic Perrin Building. The gallery is open noon to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. All Purdue Galleries exhibitions and events are free and open to the public.

Since its inception in 1963, Purdue University Galleries has evolved from solely presenting student work in the hallways of the Home Economics building, to operating three unique gallery spaces in three separate locations. Now hosting more than 40 temporary exhibitions each year, Purdue University Galleries’ features work by regional, national and international artists, including items from the permanent collection.

Purdue University Galleries’ permanent collection holds more than 5,500 works of art. Many of these items come to Purdue as gifts from faculty, alumni and community members. These gifts are made with the knowledge that Purdue Galleries will care for, preserve and share these items with students, faculty and the surrounding community.
