Senior Assistant Director and Coordinator

Kasi Jones

Kasi Jones is the Senior Assistant Director and Coordinator of New Student Orientation. She is from Arkansas and has been at Purdue for about nine years! She received her bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and Speech and graduate degree in College Student Personnel and Administration from the University of Central Arkansas (Go Bears!) Before coming to Purdue she worked at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in the Admissions office recruiting students to attend and worked with the tour guides. Outside of work Kasi loves to play softball, travel, color, and be the director of the Miss Purdue Scholarship Pageant.

Assistant Director of Orientation Programs

Craig Johnson

Craig Johnson is the Assistant Director of Orientation Programs and hails from Lake City, Michigan. As an undergraduate student, he studied Organizational Communication at Central Michigan University, where he was an Orientation Mentor and actively involved in several clubs and organizations. After working full-time as an Academic Advisor and Orientation Professional Staff member, he pursued a Master of Science Degree in College Student Affairs with an emphasis in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Craig started at Purdue in July 2015. Outside of work, Craig is often seen traveling, singing as a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and rooting on his favorite Detroit sports teams.

Program Assistant of Orientation

Virginia Cabrera

Virginia Cabrera serves as the Program Assistant of Orientation, primarily in charge of coordinating Boiler Gold Rush International (BGRi). She joined the Orientation Programs team directly after completing her Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at the University of Connecticut where the fall foliage is to die for. Prior to that she completed her undergraduate education at Rutgers University, a fellow Big 10 institution. She loves her loud and loving Hispanic family, travelling, watching all Shonda Rhimes television shows on Thursday nights, Chipotle, and welcoming international students from around the world to Purdue University and seeing them thrive on campus. WEEEEPAAA! (Definition: a word of jubilation uttered primarily by Hispanics in high volumes.)

Program Assistant of Orientation

Todd Braverman

Todd Braverman (like Superman..but Braver) serves as a Program Assistant for Orientation and is responsible for planning and implementing STAR Transfer Day, as well as for supporting transfer students during their transition to Purdue University. Todd was born and raised in Oceanside, California and he completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Southern California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of California, Irvine and his master’s degree in Postsecondary Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. Outside of work, Todd enjoys fishing, travelling, watching the Los Angeles Dodgers, playing softball and doing other Midwestern things! Boiler Up!
