Below is an overview of what to expect during a STAR day

Agenda (you will receive at check-in)

CHECK-IN - 7:15 to 8 a.m. - let us know you are here, pick up meal tickets and a printed agenda. Guests will also pick up a packet of helpful campus information (one per family).

Location - Purdue Memorial Union (June 19-23, July 3-7, July 10-14) OR Purdue Armory (June 26-30)

ATTEND TOGETHER

UNIVERSITY WELCOME - 8:15 to 9 a.m.- Students and their guests receive an overview of the day and a glimpse of the Purdue experience.

Location - Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center (June 19-23, July 3-7, July 10-14) OR Elliott Hall of Music (June 26-30)

COLLEGE WELCOME/PRE-ADVISING - 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.- Students and their guests learn about their degree requirements and what their individual college has to offer.

Location - (vary by college and department)

INTEREST SESSIONS - 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Detailed descriptions of each session available here.

Most interest sessions will be offered twice during the day. Students and their guests may split up and attend separate sessions to maximize their time on campus.

10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

  • Q&A PANEL - Loeb Playhouse (June 19-23, July 3-7, July 10-14) OR Elliott Hall of Music (June 26-30)

LUNCH

11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Students and families may dine at Earhart or Ford Dining Courts sometime between 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Complimentary meal tickets will be provided at check in for the student and up to 2 registered guests. The ticket will specify which dining location it is valid for. Additional guests may dine for $9.75+ tax (payable at dining court entrance).

PARENT/GUEST SESSION

3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

  • THE PURDUE TRANSITION - All guests of new Boilermakers will hear from the Parent & Family Connections office on how to move through the college transition process. Loeb Playhouse (June 19-23, July 3-7, July 10-14) OR Elliott Hall of Music (June 26-30).

RECONNECTING AT THE END OF THE DAY

After students finish in the registration lab they can reconnect with their guests. We encourage students to wait for their guests just outside of the area where they attended the University welcome in the morning. From June 19-23, July 3-7, July 10-14, students will reconnect at the Stewart Center, right outside of Loeb Playhouse. June 26-30, students will reconnect outside the Elliott Hall of Music.
