Updated schedule for full State Street road closure

Updated July 14, 2020 to reflect a new title and schedule — originally titled "State Street sidewalk closure underway, full road closure scheduled later this month"

The northern sidewalk and bicycle path along State Street between University and Russell streets is currently closed for nearby private construction work. As part of this project, Waldron Street from First Street to State Street is also closed. These impacts will remain in place through mid-August.

A full road closure for State Street will begin in the same area on July 22 and continue for one week. The closure will last from approximately 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on those days, and this section of the road will be accessible over the weekend. The sidewalk south of State Street will be unavailable during the road closure.

There will also be a lane shift for the westbound lanes of State Street from July 13-24.

Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists should use caution in the area, obey posted signs and detours, and seek alternate routes if possible.
