Humza has held many roles in the Purdue Bands & Orchestras department, starting as a member of the “All-American” Marching Band trumpet section from 2016 to 2020. He also participated in various concert bands, Gold and Black Sound, and Boiler Brass. He was a Gold level member of the Volunteer Management Team and served as the Technology Team Lead for the 2018 and 2019 years. Humza continued to serve Purdue Bands and Orchestras as a volunteer until 2022, when he was hired part-time. In 2023, he transitioned to his current full-time position. His primary duties include updating and maintaining the Purdue Bands & Orchestras website, producing digital and printed media, and advising the Technology Team.

Humza also takes great interest in the science (and art) of classical music recording techniques in both live and studio situations. In 2021 the Purdue Bands & Orchestras Concert Archive YouTube Channel was created, which provides full concert videos from all of our Concert Bands, Orchestras, Jazz Bands, and all other indoor ensemble performances.
