A Brief Look Into Our History
Established in 1886, the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band has become an icon of Purdue University. This world-renowned band performs at each home football game and travels to concerts and festivals around the world, including China, Ireland, and Colombia.
MILITARY ROOTS
The Purdue Military Band was organized in 1886, one year before Purdue’s first football team. Members received ROTC drill credit for participating in the band. Hints of the military history remain in our traditions today.
