Indianapolis 500 Television Coverage
The 2023 AES 500 Festival Parade will take place on Saturday, May 27, in downtown Indianapolis. Parade festivities start at 11:45 am, with the parade beginning at noon. The Parade will be telecast to the Indianapolis market on WTHR, Channel 13, and nationally on Peacock.
NBC will add a new two hours of pre-race coverage for the Indianapolis 500 to its race day lineup on May 28, starting at 9 a.m. as part of its 60-plus hours of live programming for the Month of May on the Peacock streaming service.
The additional two hours of coverage will include action from the Snake Pit and include a performance from DJ Diesel — aka Shaquille O’Neal — and lead into NBC’s traditional pre-race show that will air starting at 11 a.m. and head into the green flag that’s set to drop around 12:45 p.m. NBC’s broadcast window will run until 4 p.m., giving the network seven hours of 500 coverage on race day.
Hopefully the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band will receive some nice coverage.
NOTE: If you live in Indianapolis and surrounding area, local NBC affiliates will likely block live coverage of the race. However, the Peacock app will still stream live.
