Call for student-authored journal article proposals
Student proposals and articles are currently being accepted for consideration in the Fall 2023 Purdue Journal of Service-Learning & International Engagement issue (Vol. 10).
Proposals and articles are currently being accepted for consideration in the tenth volume of the PJSL. Publication in the Fall 2023 issue of the journal requires proposals be received no later than January 15, 2023. Submissions are made directly to the PJSL website. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis, and those received after the deadline will be considered for the following issue.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this information with students interested in publishing an article, and are also encouraged to mentor a student writing an article.
Article Types
- Reflective Essay is a student-authored description of a community engagement project (3500 words).
- Research with Reflection is a student-authored research article which may be secondarily co-authored by a faculty member or community partner describing an engagement project using quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research methodology (3500 words).
- Community Partner Snapshot is a student-authored description of a community partner/organization and the service opportunities for students and faculty within the organization (1000 words).
- Faculty Profile Interview is a student-authored interview with a faculty member involved in service-learning and/or community engagement initiatives (1500 words).
We are also accepting submissions for a new category of community-inspired cover art for the journal: we’re looking for artwork, photography, digital design, or other graphic illustrations which are inspired by community engagement, either at the local or international levels.
