Entrepreneurship is a Journey, Not a Destination

In life, we are often thrown curve balls. How we respond to those curve balls is what can change the trajectory of our lives. This is true in both personal and professional settings. Our alumni often mention how Purdue’s Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program taught them to be resilient and use their skills to pivot when necessary. The interdisciplinary and innovative perspectives on which the program is built gives students the mindset that enables them to get out of their comfort zone, continue reaching for their goals and fail forward. Working in teams to turn problems and ideas into viable business opportunities is challenging.
Entrepreneurship is a journey, not a destination.
Navigating obstacles is the true skill of entrepreneurs. It is the key to learning and growing in one’s personal and professional life and the key to finding success.

From Recruitment to Sales – How Alum Victoria Lit Up Her Career
Victoria Engblom graduated with a degree in Corporate Communications from Purdue University in 2015 and is a strong advocate for Purdue’s Certificate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Victoria is currently a Sales Manager at GE, where she will be completing her 5-year work anniversary. Prior to this, she worked in human resources at Devon Energy. She also runs an AirBnB and credits the entrepreneurship program for helping her in both her corporate and entrepreneurial ventures.
