  1. Is the vertical displacement of the connectors solved by using strain equals stress/ E, then saying strain equals displacement / initial length? Or are we using elongation, saying e = FL/AE, and solving e for each connector?

    1. I just realized it is the same because the strain /E * initial length is just FL/AE.... but do you want the displacement in terms of the change in length from its initial point so just solving for e, or should we do them all with respect to a single point like the top point, because the elongations compound and cause like the bottom connector to move even more.

      1. Wouldn't displacement from initial point also involve compounding displacement? If 1 extends connector G is also moving down along with H and I. But H also experiences elongation in 2 so it moves further down from initial point
