I am struggling to find the distance between A and B. Any tips?
The horizontal distance between A and B is 4d and vertical distance between A and D is 3d. It is listed on the side of the diagram.
This helped me find the angles needed to solve for reaction forces, thank you.
I meant the opposite. You can use the 3/4/5 triangle to solve for the distance between A and B using a proportion.
Is d = 4? Or we assume it is another unknown variable.
tan (angle)=3/4 =x/2d then x=1.5d ...I think this is right way to find distanceAB....
