Tell us why you chose Purdue University for your undergraduate education

I chose Purdue University because of the superior education I knew I'd receive. I also liked the campus and the diverse student population.

At first, I didn’t know what to expect, and I was a little worried about how I'd feel here, but once I adapted to college life, I fell in love with Purdue. I love that there is so much diversity. I love how this college town makes me feel like a true college student. I also love how the Department of Psychological Sciences has greatly enhanced my education.

What advice would you give international students who are about to start their first year at Purdue?

In the beginning, you might feel like you’re alone on such a big campus, but don’t be afraid. Give yourself time to adapt to your surroundings. Once you’ve adjusted, get out there! Make friends and take risks in your academic career and social life. This will build your confidence and help you to discover who you are. Essentially, create memories and experiences. Time flies, so appreciate every moment!

What is your favorite thing about Purdue?

Among my favorite things at Purdue is the campus itself and the many places to study. I enjoy walking on campus, especially in the fall when it looks particularly stunning. The beautiful scene makes me feel refreshed and puts me in a good mood. Purdue’s large campus also offers a variety of study spots, each with its own unique atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to be!

Tell us about some of your activities at Purdue.

Joining organizations my first semester made adjusting to Purdue easier and allowed me to adapt more quickly. My work as an undergraduate researcher has taught me what it means to conduct research and what it means to be a part of research. It has greatly enhanced my academic career and has provided clarity for what I want to do in the future. I also did an internship back home. This hands-on experience in the field of psychology improved my abilities and skills. All of these activities have added to my personal, academic, and professional endeavors. I am very grateful for the opportunities I’ve experienced while at Purdue University.
