Department of Nutrition Science welcomes two new faculty

Dean of Purdue University College of Health and Human Sciences Marion Underwood welcomes two new faculty to the Department of Nutrition Science this fall.

Assistant professor of nutrition science Tzu-Wen Cross comes to Purdue from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Cross’ teaching interests include macronutrient metabolism, obesity, and human health. Her research is focused on gut microbiome, sex differences, and obesity.

“Purdue fosters an interdisciplinary, supportive, and excellent research environment. The Department of Nutrition Science is highly reputable and an outstanding place for translational research,” said Cross.

Greg Henderson

Assistant professor of nutrition science Greg Henderson comes to Purdue from Agilent Technologies.

Dr. Henderson’s teaching interests include macronutrient metabolism, physiology, and human health. His research is focused on lipid metabolism, and metabolic responses to diet and exercise.

Henderson chose Purdue for its “excellence in metabolism and health science research. (There is) a very strong environment for performing translational research, and (Purdue has) many highly impactful scientists in the area of nutrition science.”
