An Evening with Ted Allen

February 20, 2019 @ 6:30 pm 9:00 pm America/New_York

An Evening with Ted Allen February 20 6:30PM Loeb Playhouse

From hosting various hit reality TV series to authoring cookbooks, Purdue University alumnus Ted Allen has a lot to be proud of. He will share his experiences on Feb. 20 during a Giant Leaps Series event “An Evening with Ted Allen.”

This event, presented by the Purdue Student Union Board, will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse in the format of a moderated conversation with Trevor Peters, WLFI-TV 18 news anchor and Purdue alumnus. The event will also include an audience Q&A component, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. This event is free with a Purdue student ID, and will have limited general public seating. Tickets for students and the general public are available online.

Allen, who earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1987, is the Emmy award-winning host of three shows on the Food Network: the widely popular cooking competition series “Chopped”; the guide to classic foods across America, “Best. Ever”; and a cooking competition for amateurs, “All-Star Academy.” In addition to work on his own series, Allen has authored several books, served as contributing writer for Esquire magazine, and made regular appearances on other television cooking shows. His latest cookbook is “In My Kitchen: 100 Recipes and Discoveries for Passionate Cooks.” He rose to fame as a member of the TV show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.”

This is one of many events celebrating Purdue’s sesquicentennial, 150 Years of Giant Leaps. This yearlong celebration is highlighting Purdue’s remarkable history of giant leaps, while focusing on what giant leaps Purdue can take to address the world’s problems.
