Heart Health Pop-up Clinic: “High, Low, or Just Right?”

February 18, 2019 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm EST

Blood pressure

Celebrate Heart Month and join us for this FREE clinic at Purdue University’s Center for Family Health in Lyles-Porter Hall.

Participants can have their blood pressure, blood sugar levels and blood oxygen levels measured by representatives from the Purdue University School of Nursing.

Participants will learn how high blood pressure can lead to stroke or dementia, why having too much sugar in the blood for long periods of time can cause serious health problems, and what a low blood oxygen level can signify.

Participants in this clinic also will receive information about the importance of year-round sun protection and a free sample of sunscreen for the face.

The FREE clinic is open to the public and will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Center for Family Health in Lyles-Porter Hall.

The College of Health and Human Sciences will be offering pop-up clinics on campus throughout the year as part of Purdue’s sesquicentennial celebration, 150 Years of Giant Leaps. These clinics will focus on “Health, Longevity and Quality of Life,” one of the four themes of the Giant Leaps celebration.
