Pop-Up Clinic: Making Carbs Count
January 16, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm UTC+0

“Making Carbs Count” will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 16 in the demonstration kitchen in Lyles-Porter Hall, Room 1107. Purdue University Health and Human Sciences Extension Educators will share how whole grains are important to one’s overall health and will teach participants how to make carbohydrates a part of a healthy eating pattern. A tasting station will feature several whole grain options for participants to sample, including a breakfast recipe made using an electric pressure cooker.
A Facebook Live session of the breakfast recipe demonstration will take place at noon Wednesday for anyone who is unable to attend the clinic. This session can be streamed online on the Purdue University Health and Human Sciences Extension Facebook page.
The College of Health and Human Sciences will be offering pop-up clinics on campus throughout the year as part of Purdue’s sesquicentennial celebration, 150 Years of Giant Leaps. These clinics will focus on “Health, Longevity and Quality of Life,” one of the four themes of the Giant Leaps celebration.
