Karen Foli

Karen Foli

Karen Foli, PhD, RN, FAAN, is a Professor at Purdue University, School of Nursing, West Lafayette, Indiana. Dr. Foli’s work is bound together by the theme of care rendered through the lens of psychological trauma. Dr. Foli’s expertise surrounds nurses’ use and misuse of substances and the regulatory implications of such use. She seeks to decrease stigma towards nurses who use substances through her theory of nurse-specific psychological trauma and trauma-informed care practices.

Wanju Huang

Wanju Huang

Dr. Wanju Huang is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University. Prior to joining the LDT program, she was an instructional design manager at Teaching and Learning Technologies, Purdue Online, where she led a team of instructional designers and video producers for course design and development. She has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., learning theories and instructional design, educational applications of multimedia, statistics, critical thinking, and social intelligence) in face-to-face, blended, and online formats. Dr. Huang has published and presented research papers related to online learning and instructional design at national and international conferences. Her research interests include: technology for building online communities, online identities and communication, the educational use of augmented reality, and the effectiveness of faculty development programs.

Nicole Adams

Nicole Adams

PhD, RN, CEN

Dr. Nicole Adams PhD, RN, CEN is a clinical associate professor at the Purdue University School of Nursing. She teaches evidence-based practice and research to sophomores and health policy to graduate students. She has over 15 years of experience in hospitals at the bedside and in leadership roles spanning medical/surgical wards, intensive care, and the emergency department. Dr. Adams conducts community-engaged research with community coalitions addressing substance use across the nation. She uses a complex adaptive system framework to assist communities in creating recovery-oriented systems of care.

Carol Ott

Carol Ott

PharmD, BCPP

Carol Ott, PharmD, BCPP is a clinical professor of pharmacy practice at the Purdue University College of Pharmacy and adjunct faculty at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She teaches psychiatric and neurologic pharmacotherapy at Purdue and didactics in psychopharmacology in the IU Psychiatry Residency Program. At Purdue, Dr. Ott is the faculty lead of the BoilerWoRx project, a multidisciplinary public health outreach program. Dr. Ott is a member of the Indiana Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Board and Mental Health Quality Advisory Committee and serves as an expert panelist for the Project ECHO for Opioid Use Disorders through the IU School of Medicine and the LGBTQ+ ECHO through IU Fairbanks School of Public Health.

Becky Good

Becky Good, DNP, FNP-BC, CNE is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program at Purdue University School of Nursing.  She has 25 years of nursing experience and has taught undergraduate and graduate curriculum since 2011. She maintains practice in the family medicine and infectious diseases departments at IU Health Arnett.  She was one of the first clinicians to focus on annual wellness visits (AWV) for the Medicare population and started the first pre-exposure HIV prophylaxis (PrEP) clinic to improve HIV prevention in the Greater Lafayette Community.  She has led numerous student research projects and her interests include experiential learning, quality improvement, simulation, curricular development, and patient care access for vulnerable populations.

Susan Kersey

Susan Kersey

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Dr. Kersey has worked with individuals within a treatment team, managing the treatment of a full spectrum of psychiatric disorders. Her appointment as director of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program positions her to bring real world knowledge to the development of an evidence-based curriculum at the School of Nursing at Purdue University. Dr. Kersey brings over 28 years of experience working within psychiatric nursing as an RN in an acute care setting and in an advanced role in various outpatient settings.

Lisa Kirkham

Lisa Kirkham is a Research Associate for the Evaluation and Learning Research Center. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy, an M.A. in Educational Leadership, and a B.S. in Elementary Education. Lisa’s focus is on research development in K-12 education. Dr. Kirkham has extensive experience implementing research programs that examine student efficacy, implementing data collection and analysis in the K-12 setting, and creating professional development for teachers that supports curriculum design.

Mohammad Shams Ud Duha

Mohammad Shams Ud Duha

Mohammad Shams Ud Duha is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University, USA. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Andrews Fellowship at Purdue. He has worked as an Instructional Designer for Purdue Repository for Online Teaching and Learning (PoRTAL) and the Paraimpact Project at Purdue University. He is currently serving as the President-Elect of the Graduate Student Assembly of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), an international association of scholars and professionals concerning instructional technology. Prior to his joining Purdue, he taught English at Brac University in Bangladesh. He was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA during the 2015-16 academic year. His specific research interests are online learning environment, social media in education, and microlearning. Shams is also a writer and chess player. He has written three books, has scripted nine plays and drama serials for Bangladeshi television, and achieved an international rating in chess.

Wonjin Yu

Wonjin Yu

Ph.D. Student

Wonjin Yu is currently a Ph.D. student in Learning, Design, and Technology at Purdue University, United States. He is also the recipient of the David Ross Fellowship at Purdue. Prior to his joining Purdue, he has worked in South Korea as an elementary school teacher in Daegu city since 2012 and a university lecturer at Daegu National University of Education (DNUE) in 2021. He had taught computing education including the national curriculum of software education, and education with technology to pre and in-service teachers in South Korea. He majored in elementary computing education in his master's and he has interests in computing education for all and various emerging technologies for education.
