Camila Ulloa, a PhD student from the Horticulture Department, along with three graduate students from the Agricultural Economics department, Alejandra Armesto, Ivanna Carrillo, and Owen Zakrzewski, participated in the 2024 IFAMA Student Case Competition. They presented innovative solutions to a panel of judges from academia, research, and industry. Their team achieved first place among global teams by addressing key challenges in sustainability and innovation within the seed industry. Their strategy focused on restructuring the industry’s value chain, improving accessibility of the extension network, and promoting transparent sustainability to consumers.

Ariana Torres presented her research at the IFAMA Conference during the Digital Transformation Academic Symposium, examining “The Return on Investment of Social Media Marketing in the U.S. Green Industry.” Her study analyzed how social media advertising can increase visibility, expand customer reach, and enhance sales efficiency in the burgeoning green sector.
