Several HLA folks traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii this week for the annual meeting of the American Society for Horticultural Science. A few of us went a day early to tour local farms and we visited a plumeria farm and a fruit farm where we sampled passion fruit, guava, bananas, papaya, dragon fruit, and much more — We do all have to make sacrifices for work. Following tradition, we gathered together for a lovely dinner. We gave a number of presentations, including:
Kathryn Orvis and Linda Prokopy – Evaluating Teaching Effort for Fairness and Equity
Ariana Torres and Linda Prokopy – Diverse Corn Belt: Evaluating Markets for Horticultural Food Crops
Jeanine Arana, Stephen Meyers and Wenjing Guan – Effects of row-middle cover crops on strawberry plasticulture production
Ariana Torres – The Return of Investment of Social Media Marketing in the US Green Industry
