HLA’s Youth Outreach Activities

Vicki Stirm, Kathryn Orvis and Karen Mitchell hosted several youth outreach projects in June.

On June 13 and 14, 16 youth from the 4-H Academy – Living Landscapes worked with Dr. Kathryn Orvis and and Vicki Stirm on several horticulture activities: plant propagation of houseplants, a scavenger hunt in the Jules Janick Horticulture Garden, and flower anatomy and dissection.

On June 18, Vicki Stirm hosted 40 students from Summer College for High School Students. The students learned about plant propagation of houseplants.

On June 20, Vicki Stirm and Karen Mitchell hosted 47 7th-11th graders and 14 chaperones from C-PASA (Cargill- Purdue Agribusiness and Science Academy) – Juntos 4-H. The students worked on plant propagation of houseplants.
