Please join us in welcoming Mario Muñoz, the newest MS graduate student in Dr. Ariana Torres’ Lab! Hailing from Guatemala, he completed his undergraduate studies at Zamorano University in Honduras. His graduate research will focus on consumer preferences and decision-making processes for specialty crops. Currently, he is investigating homeowners’ preferences and willingness to purchase turfgrass sod, as well as identifying perceptions and attitudes towards adopting low-input turfgrass sod varieties.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Mario is an avid adventurer and nature enthusiast. He enjoys hiking and backpacking, having climbed 37 of the highest volcanoes in Guatemala. He is also passionate about endurance sports, particularly ultra trail running, with a goal of completing a 50K trail race. Additionally, he enjoys reading non-fiction, exploring coffee culture, and salsa dancing.
