Yiwei Huang is an Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Purdue University. Her research focuses on the relationships between people and the outdoor environment, with a particular interest in the needs of underrepresented populations who are easily neglected by the traditional planning process. The groups she commonly engages with are children, seniors, ethnic minorities, and more. She actively uses visual-driven engagement methods and listens and treasures ideas from local communities. She also explores the unique challenges of these populations' everyday experiences with the impact of climate change.
