Freedom of Expression

Purdue University is committed to free and open inquiry as protected by the First Amendment and university policy. While there are narrow exceptions to the general principle of freedom of expression, fostering the ability of university members to engage in vigorous debate and deliberation in an effective and responsible manner is an essential part of the university’s educational mission.
