Hotseat Student Instructions

There are three (3) ways to respond to poll questions in Hotseat.

Option 1: Using a web browser

1. Go to openhotseat.org and log in using BoilerKey.
2. Active polls should appear, and you can click on the answers to respond.

Option 2: Using the Hotseat app from the App Store (iOS users only)

1. Open the app and log in using BoilerKey.
2. Active polls should appear, and you can click on the answers to respond.

Option 3: Text Messaging

1. In order to respond by text message, you will first need to configure your Hotseat account.
   1. Go to openhotseat.org and log in using BoilerKey.
   2. Click on your name in the upper right corner and select “Edit My Profile” from the menu.
   3. Enter your phone number and click the Save button.
2. The phone number to use for Hotseat will always be 765-560-4177 even if you are enrolled in multiple courses using Hotseat. You may want to save this number in your contacts.
3. Each poll option has a unique texting code listed to the right. Type in the code that corresponds to the answer you choose and send your message.
4. A confirmation message should arrive for each submission. If you do not receive the confirmation message, check your cell phone signal or consider using one of the other options for responding to the poll.

Important Notes:

• If you respond to a poll multiple times, Hotseat will only save your most recent answer.
• Check with your instructor if you are unsure your poll responses were received.
