Drop-in session for graduate teaching assistants Aug. 27

Purdue graduate students who are part of instructional teams for undergraduate courses are invited to stop by a drop-in session on Tues., Aug. 27, 9 a.m.-noon, in STEW 278, West Lafayette. Representatives from the Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE) and Innovative Learning will be available to share answers to questions about working with undergraduate learners and educational technology like Brightspace. Registration is not necessary.

Graduate teaching assistants may also be added to a non-credit Brightspace developed by CIE: Teaching Assistant Orientation (TAOR) 2024. TAOR 2024 is designed to be both a “quick start” to prepare graduate teaching assistants for their first weeks at Purdue and a resource throughout the semester. Students may already be enrolled by their department, so should check their Brightspace for a course named TAOR 2024. Requests to be added to TAOR 2024 may be emailed to CIE@purdue.edu with the student’s Purdue career account username.

CIE is a member of Innovative Learning, Purdue’s hub approach to connect instructors in Indianapolis and West Lafayette to the resources they need to engage students, develop courses in any instructional modality, and enhance learning across the University. Members include the Center for Instructional Excellence, Libraries and the School of Information Studies and Purdue University Online.
