Debrief fall, brainstorm spring instruction during Dec. 9 TLCoP

All Purdue West Lafayette instructors, teaching assistants, staff, and students are invited to join the Teaching and Learning Community of Practice (TLCoP) on Thursday, Dec. 9, 3-4 p.m., in STEW 320 to debrief fall and brainstorm spring instruction.

We began fall semester prepared to return to pre-COVID classroom practices and policies, but instructors and students are still transitioning, and spring semester presents many unknowns. In this session, participants will share what strategies they tried and how those things worked. In our informal, supportive community, we will explore the following topics:

  • attendance policies
  • classroom safety measures
  • effective student engagement
  • transitions regarding Brightspace and educational technologies
  • and instructor mental health and time management.

By attending TLCoP’s final session for the fall semester, instructors will have the chance to consider what they may do differently as they work on spring semester syllabi. Registration is encourage for this in-person session, but drop-ins are welcome.

Further details on the community of practice and recordings of other TLCoP sessions during fall 2021 are available on the TLCoP website.
