STORYLINE

Lawry says that in order to compete with online retail, physical stores will need to find new ways to engage with consumers. Lawry says stores recognize that a blurring has developed between the spaces of work, home and play. These areas are beginning to converge, and some stores are trying to take advantage of that with the use of mobile services and interactive displays to make shopping more convenient and engaging for shoppers. One strategy being used is to launch a handful of concept stores to test out new ways of attracting and retaining consumers.
