Iowa Board of Nursing approves Purdue Global’s associate of science in nursing program
Approval valid through 2030
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Global School of Nursing’s associate of science in nursing (ASN) program received a six-year regulatory approval from the Iowa Board of Nursing.
The board’s six-year regulatory approval is the maximum regulatory approval for a prelicensure nursing program offered by a higher education institution and is valid through 2030.
Purdue Global — Purdue’s online university for working adults — currently offers the ASN program at three Iowa locations and one additional location in Waterville, Maine. Students at those sites have access to state-of-the-art, high-fidelity simulation labs; classroom spaces; and in-person instructors through education partners.
Melissa Burdi, dean and vice president of the School of Nursing, said the program is important as it prepares nursing graduates for their transition into clinical practice.
“We are grateful for the support and collaboration from the Iowa Board of Nursing and our health care partners across the state,” Burdi said. “Through our partnerships, we can continue to build an educated and skilled workforce in a variety of health care settings across Iowa and other communities we serve.”
Upon successful completion of the ASN program, graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.
