Daniels to address manufacturers' national meeting
March 12, 2014
President Mitch Daniels will address more than 200 corporate leaders in the manufacturing industry when he speaks Thursday (March 13) to the National Association of Manufacturers in California.
Daniels will address some of the nation’s most influential corporate leaders during the opening lunch of the organization's annual meeting. He is expected to speak about the challenges facing higher education and how universities, such as Purdue, can strengthen the manufacturing workforce.
The group is an important one for Purdue to reach, Daniels says. All of the companies represented at the meeting hire Purdue graduates, and many are or could be candidates for research collaboration.
Introducing Daniels to the group will be Doug Oberhelman, chairman and chief executive officer of Caterpillar Inc. Oberhelman is also NAM's chair.
