Purdue construction continues this summer in addition to State Street project

In addition to the ongoing work on the State Street Redevelopment Project, Purdue will begin multiple maintenance and landscaping projects, as well as continue work on a number of new facilities, in the coming weeks as construction increases for the summer season.

To help navigate area construction work, an interactive construction map is available online by visiting the existing campus map, located on the Purdue homepage, and clicking “construction map” at the top of the webpage. The map is being reviewed weekly and updated as appropriate through the end of November. Each highlighted section of the map can be selected to learn more about work duration, scope and travel impacts.

Construction of the following new facilities, which are all expected to be complete by the end of 2017, should not significantly affect campus travel this summer:

* Wilmeth Active Learning Center.

* Controlled Environment Phenotyping Facility.

* Football Performance Complex.

* Bechtel Innovation Design Center.

* Creighton Hall of Animal Sciences and Land O’Lakes Center for Experiential Learning and the Purina Pavilion.

* Flex Lab Facility.

The following areas of campus will experience high volumes of construction over the summer, and pedestrians and motorists should exercise additional caution in these areas and obey all signs and fencing:

Centennial Mall and Central Drive

Centennial Mall and the area around Central Drive will continue to be affected by utility and landscaping work.

Electrical Engineering, Materials and Electrical Engineering and the American Railway Building

The renovation of Electrical Engineering, Materials and Electrical Engineering and the American Railway Building continues this summer, and pedestrian routes near these buildings are significantly affected.

Ross-Ade Stadium

The installation of field lighting at Ross-Ade Stadium is expected to affect pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the area from approximately mid-June through the end of July. More details will be shared as they are finalized.

Matthews Hall, Beering Hall of Liberal Arts and Education and Mathematical Sciences Building

Utility work will be taking place near Matthews Hall, Beering Hall and the Mathematical Sciences Building.

Additionally, the City of West Lafayette has a number of construction projects, including housing developments on Pierce and Vine Streets, that could affect pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
