Human Resources – Benefits is announcing a new look and feel to its benefits website, offering a user-friendly browsing experience for faculty and staff through an enhanced, easy-to-navigate, uncluttered design.

“The website redesign project has been in the works for more than eight months,” said Candace Shaffer, director of benefits in Human Resources. “Primary objectives of the new site design were focused on providing an aesthetically pleasing view, simplifying content organization and offering streamlined navigation and menus in order for employees to find needed information more quickly and more efficiently. We hope the Purdue community finds the redesigned website to be an appealing, helpful resource for their benefits needs.”

Homepage

Employees now see enhancements to the homepage, including an uncluttered, user-friendly, easy-to-navigate design.

Categorized by benefit item or area -- such as medical, dental, leaves and retirement -- the top navigation provides visitors a direct route to their respective need. Each of the four types of insurance-related links -- medical, prescription, dental and vision -- offers a drop-down link to the various Purdue employee audiences -- current employees, graduate staff and retirees/former employees -- where information on those topics can be found relative to the audience type.

From the homepage, there are direct links to other benefits information and topics such as health savings, health reimbursement and flexible spending accounts, worker’s compensation, Healthy Boiler and the Center for Healthy Living as well as two new sections: “Quick Reference” and “Smart Healthcare.”

New highlights

Two new categories were added to provide a simple way to access these resources.

  • Smart Healthcare tile – Offers employees a quick look at several resources to help them find the best care at the most cost-effective prices based on Purdue’s medical plans. Separated out by topic, Smart Healthcare covers a variety of resources including the Anthem Care & Cost Finder, on-campus and virtual health and wellness options, referrals for off-site care and services, lab work, mental health resources and more.
  • Quick Reference tile – Provides quick access to some of the most often-used topics in benefits, including popular FAQs; medical insurance and services contacts; contacts for prescription, dental and vision insurance providers; HR/Benefit forms; HR policies; and more.

Employees are encouraged to visit and explore the website to discover the full spectrum of benefits information and offerings. A number of pages are still in progress; however, more content will become available as needed. Check back frequently for updates.

Feature tile

Currently, “2020 Open Enrollment” is the feature topic highlighted and links directly to the dedicated open enrollment webpage for 2020. Similar to the design concept for the new benefits website, the dedicated enrollment webpage offers streamlined menus and clear navigation for all things open enrollment. The page will continue to update with additional information up to and throughout the open enrollment 2020 time frame.
