First Family to host Easter egg hunt at Westwood; website for First Lady Dr. Kei Hui launched as campus community resource

Purdue President Mung Chiang and First Lady Kei Hui will host an Easter egg hunt for faculty, staff and student families with children ages 3-10 at Westwood on April 2.

There will be two sessions in the afternoon for 50 families each. In addition to an egg hunt, planned activities include arts and crafts, face painting and photographs.

If interest exceeds capacity, a lottery will be run among those registered. To register, please complete this Qualtrics link by March 21. Everyone who registers will be notified by March 24. Those selected will receive complete details about their session.

“Mung and I, along with our three children, look forward to welcoming some of our fellow Boilermaker young families for a fun afternoon at Westwood,” Hui said. “We believe that family events create lifelong memories, and we are excited to share some of those with our colleagues.”

As the First Lady of Purdue, Hui, a practicing internal medicine doctor trained at Pennsylvania Hospital, aspires to engage in initiatives that support and benefit all Boilermakers.

A website, https://www.purdue.edu/president/first-lady/, has been created to connect with the campus community and will serve as a resource with regular updates in the future. Through the website, Hui wants to promote and share all the great resources Purdue has to offer for children’s well-being, preventive health and community engagement. She also looks forward to enhancing alumni engagement.

“I am truly humbled to have this amazing opportunity to work with Purdue students, staff, faculty, neighbors and alumni,” Hui said. “We look forward to the opportunities to connect and collaborate across the university and community level.”
