New business, personal use travel discounts available to Purdue employees

Purdue University negotiates discounted rates with many travel providers for all faculty and staff for business use, and some discounts also can be used for personal (leisure) travel. The university recently negotiated discounted rates with new providers, including hotel chains and car rental companies. The new providers include the following:

• Avis Car Rental
• Budget Car Rental
• Choice Hotels
• Delta Airlines
• Hertz Car Rental
• InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)

To obtain the business discount rates, reservations must be made through Concur or the university’s travel agency, AAA Corporate Travel.  Business-use vehicle rentals may not be used for driver tests.

The hotel discounts can be used for personal travel. All personal travel must be booked directly through vendor websites to receive Purdue’s special rates. Purdue’s personal travel discounts are not applicable through a third-party travel provider or in conjunction with other discounts. 

As of Aug. 1, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental will no longer offer discounted rates for personal travel. Therefore, no discounts will be available for rental vehicles for personal use since Avis Car Rental, Budget Car Rental and Hertz Car Rental do not offer discounted rates for personal travel.
