Purdue Military Appreciation Day: $20 tickets, T-shirts, game-day events

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University will salute veterans and active duty military personnel Nov. 3 in conjunction with the Boilermakers' football game against Penn State University and the upcoming Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Game tickets are available for $20 through Purdue Athletics for all past or present who have served in defense of their country, including current and former military personnel, firefighters and police officers.
Other plans include the following:
"I Am an American: We Support Our Troops" T-shirts and hats will be available. The T-shirts can be purchased at University Bookstore, Follett's locations (Purdue West Shopping Center, Black & Gold Mine Bookstore, Village Bookstore, Boiler Bookstore) and Purdue Pride store at the north end of Ross-Ade Stadium. Hats will be available at University Bookstore and University Spirit.
A portion of the proceeds will support the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities program at Purdue. The EBV program offers cutting-edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 soldiers, sailors, aviators and marines with disabilities resulting from their service to our country.
KC-135s from Grissom Air Reserve Base will fly over the stadium before kickoff.
On the field, students in the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities will arrive with the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band.
The marching band will offer a medley of music selected to honor the U.S. Armed Forces.
The scoreboard will offer a video salute.
Four Humvees, accompanied by personnel from the Indiana National Guard, Lafayette Armory, will be available to see and sit in before and after the game at various locations on campus.
Fraternities and sororities will hang sheet signs saluting veterans and the Student Veterans Organization.
Purple ribbons and lapel pins, each depicting Purdue and U.S. flags, will be distributed at the Purdue Student Government 12th Boiler Tailgate.
The Purdue Bell Tower will play a musical salute to veterans from Nov. 3 through Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Kickoff time has not been set yet by the Big 10 Conference.
