A Purdue-led team is the winner of a new project to advance artificial intelligence hardware through the Microelectronic Commons program in collaboration with the Silicon Crossroads Microelectronics Commons Hub. Purdue’s project — CHEETA: CMOS+MRAM Hardware for Energy-EfficienT AI — will adopt a CMOS+X approach, specifically leveraging the unique capabilities of magnetic random-access memory to design efficient in-memory computing hardware fabrics.
Five faculty members from Purdue's Davidson School of Chemical Engineering and one from the Daniels School of Business have been honored with prestigious American Institute of Chemical Engineers national and division awards for their groundbreaking contributions to the field. These individuals will receive their awards at the 2024 AIChE Annual Meeting, to be held in San Diego from Oct. 27-31.
The Purdue Student Union Board held its Harvest Fest on Saturday (Oct. 12) at Memorial Mall. The festivities, which were open to Purdue students and the community, included a community mural, pumpkin painting, Frisbee painting, carnival-themed games, yard games, a photo booth and more.
In its latest issue, Purdue Alumnus magazine celebrates Purdue Crew's 75-year legacy on the Wabash River. The team was founded by Cuban-born brothers Ken (BS science ’53) and Bill (BS electrical engineering ’51) Butler, rowers who were distant cousins of Winthrop Stone, Purdue’s president from 1900-1921. Currently, approximately 140 students row on the men’s and women’s varsity and novice teams in seven to 10 races per year as part of the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association.
