Within the Office of Research is a five-person team devoted to supporting faculty in the research grant writing process. Purdue’s proposal strategy and development team offers researchers a full spectrum of proposal development services and resources that range from guidance and templates for single-investigator proposals to fully embedded support on large-scale center-level efforts.
Mark Lundstrom, Purdue’s chief semiconductor officer, on Wednesday (Oct. 2) was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash, the highest honor bestowed by the Indiana governor, in recognition of his contributions to the semiconductor industry.
In a message shared by Karen Plaut, Purdue’s executive vice president for research, the Office of Research announced the Purdue Excellence in Research Administration system, or PERA, is live. Faculty, staff and students involved in research will use PERA to submit grant proposals, manage research funding and contracts, and apply to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
The Hall of Music Productions and Purdue Convocations teams have opened a new ensemble rehearsal space, known as JamSpace, that is now available to registered Purdue students. With the goal of supporting the local live music scene’s growth, the Hall of Music has conducted the initial transformation of a former video studio and band instrument locker space in the lower level of the building to become a rehearsal home for musical ensembles. The space is outfitted with guitar and bass amps, a keyboard, drum kit, and a small PA system.
