This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

The Bell Tower at Purdue University.

Amy McClannen

Amy McClannen (Business Management): I want to thank Amy for her outstanding support with all business office items related to the SCALE K-12 project. Her patience and initiative have been vital in getting things done. She is an outstanding partner and colleague and couldn’t be more appreciated! — Rena Sterrett (Engineering Education)

Kim Vi

Kim Vi (Purdue Polytechnic Institute): Kim spontaneously created a six-week walking challenge. She opened this challenge for staff to get moving while working as the weather transitioned to nicer conditions. She has local vendors providing prizes and has been encouraging with unique challenges for certain days or events. We all set our own daily step goals, and it’s more a self-competition than against others in the challenge. Great idea, Kim, and thanks for getting us all moving on campus. — T.R. Oneal (Purdue Polytechnic Institute)

Operations and Maintenance team that helped with water main break

Operations and Maintenance team that helped with water main break: Thank you to Brandon Ball, Jerry Cote, Dakota Brouillette, Brandon Rose and Alan Farrester for your extra effort in staying late to help fence off the water main break. — Caleb Koontz (Operations and Maintenance)

Robin Meher

Robin Meher (Libraries): Robin was incredibly helpful talking me through all of the steps to make stickers at the Knowledge Lab. I would not have been able to do this on my own, and they were incredibly popular when I distributed them. — Dan Guberman (Center for Instructional Excellence)

Amber Motz

Amber Motz (Purdue IT): The Bursar’s Office wants to thank Amber for helping create a flawless upload template for mass deposit moves for us. This has saved countless hours of time on manual moves, prevented the manual errors associated with them and, in turn, helps eliminate our accounting issues that arise when a manual error happens. During startup times of semesters, we get a lot of move requests, and this has been an absolute blessing to have in place. I appreciate the help simplifying the process for us, and I always know Amber has a way to make things better for us! Thank you for always having our backs! — Amanda Emmons (Office of the Bursar)

Ashleigh Stingley

Ashleigh Stingley (Parking Facilities): I would like to thank Ashleigh for walking me through the new process for digital parking passes. She was very thorough in showing me the process and answering all of my questions. She set up our department account and provided me with all access information and instructions to provide our guests. She was a pleasure to work with, and I appreciate the time she took to explain the entire process. — Rendi Tharp (College of Engineering)

Men’s basketball staff

Men’s basketball staff: A special thank you to Matt Painter, Brandon Brantley, Terry Johnson, Paul Lusk, Elliot Bloom, Jason Kabo, P.J. Thompson, Sasha Stevanovic, Chad Young, Nick Terruso, Tommy Luce and Jared Wulbrun for an amazing basketball season! Thank you for always representing Purdue well and for all that you do for the university. We can’t wait for next season to get here! — Katie May (College of Pharmacy)

Pam Ringor

Pam Ringor (College of Pharmacy) and Jane Krause (Pharmacy Practice): Pam and Jane always go above and beyond to come up with activities that will help their students. The educational event to help students prepare for applying to the PharmD program was well-attended and very beneficial to the students. Thank you for all that you do! — Katie May (College of Pharmacy)
